This is a course that Nancy Hoft teaches at
Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI USA.
Current Offering: SPRING QUARTER 1998

FINAL EXAM

Instructions

Choose a minimum of 4 concepts from the list below and use them to build an essay about international technical communication. To supplement your points, feel free to incorporate additional concepts (additional concepts should not be substitutes for those listed below) that are not on the list but that we covered in class or that were in the readings. Feel free to incorporate examples--from readings done for this class, others, or for pleasure, or from assignments or experience--that strengthen and illustrate your points. The essay should be as long as you think is necessary to convey your points. It should have a beginning, a middle, and an end, so please plan your time wisely. This essay is worth 20 percent of your final grade. Make sure that your name is on every page you turn in. Also, please number every page in this fashion: Page X of Y, where X is the page number and Y indicates the total number of pages you are turning in.

What I'm Looking For . . .

  • Evidence that you understand the concepts
  • Evidence that you can make connections between and among the concepts and that you know how the concepts relate to one another
  • Evidence that you can apply the concepts to a broader situation
